Seventy two children from families of Mangyan ethnic group received solar lanterns in our latest project in Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro. According to mangyan.org, Mangyan is the collective name for the eight indigenous groups living in Mindoro, each with its own name, language, and set of customs. The indigenous peoples community also received three solar street lights to promote security, improve safety, and extend hours for social activities in the area.
Global Peace Foundation Philippines, through Global Peace Women Philippines, in partnership with Inner Wheel District 380 (headed by Dr. Nona Ricafort) co-organized the second phase of turn-over. Members from eight Inner Wheel Clubs donated for the solar street lamps and solar street lights provided to the community.
This year, help us reach our goal by sharing this good news to your family, friends, and colleagues. Every donation helps increase literacy, improve health, and cultivate environmentally-sustainable living for children from indigenous peoples communities. Together, let's champion the advancement of social conditions and overall quality of life for indigenous peoples in the Philippines!
