Global Peace Foundation Philippines, in partnership with Inner Wheel of Club of the Philippines District 380, Central Pasig, and Central Ortigas will turn-over solar lanterns to benefit hundreds of indigenous children on November 13 in Sitio Hawili, Brgy. Panaytayan, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro.
Aside from solar lanterns, the community of Mangyan tribe of Hanunuo will also receive solar street lights to promote security and safety in the area.
Mr. Bugkat, a parent of three, expressed his gratitude to Global Peace Foundation and its partners and supporters for bringing light to their community. According to him, the solar lamps help the children study at night without being exposed to kerosene, and help the parents become more productive by extending hours in which they can do household chores and livelihood activities. One of Mr. Bugkat’s children is a recipient when GPF Philippines distributed solar lamps in Mansalay last July.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we continue to give light and hope to under-served population in the Philippines. Be with us as we strive to reach out to more communities and bring transformation to lives of hundreds of indigenous children. This Holiday season help us achieve our goal by sharing this news to your family and friends who might be looking for opportunities to help children and parents like Mr. Bugkat.
