This project wii equip rural Ugandan school children with practical skills in liquid soap making to improve hygiene and generate income.1000 students will produce soap for school and community use, promoting sanitation while selling surplus to support their education. Proceeds will help vulnerable children stay in school, creating a sustainable cycle of health, learning, and empowerment.
In Uganda, school dropout remains a major challenge only about 3 in 10 children who start primary school complete secondary education, according to UNICEF. Poverty, lack of scholastic materials, and poor sanitation contribute to absenteeism and early dropout. Many rural schools lack soap for handwashing, increasing illness and missed classes, especially among vulnerable children.
This project trains school children in liquid soap production using affordable, locally available materials. Students will produce soap for handwashing at school and sell excess to nearby communities. The income generated will fund school supplies and fees for vulnerable children. The initiative builds entrepreneurship, improves hygiene, and creates a sustainable, student-led support system.
The project will foster a generation of skilled, self-reliant youth equipped with practical entrepreneurship skills among 1000 learners. Improved hygiene will reduce disease and absenteeism, boosting academic performance. Income from soap production will keep more children in school, especially the most vulnerable. The model can be replicated in other schools, expanding impact across rural communities.
