Soap making for Health and income in rural school

By Jawanghe Joseph | Project Leader

We are sincerely grateful to everyone who has continued to support and believe in our mission of empowering vulnerable children through practical skills and sustainable community initiatives.

We are excited to share that the production of solid soap has now officially started. This has been made possible through the generous contributions and encouragement from all members and supporters who stood with us throughout this journey.

In addition to our liquid soap training activities, students are now actively learning and participating in solid soap production using affordable and locally available materials. The project is helping children gain practical vocational and entrepreneurship skills while also promoting proper hygiene in schools and nearby communities.

The soap produced is being used for handwashing at school, while excess products are sold within surrounding communities. The income generated is intended to support vulnerable children with school requirements such as scholastic materials and school fees.

We are also thankful that, with support from members outside the GlobalGiving campaign, we were able to purchase important tools and materials for both liquid and solid soap production. This support has strengthened the project and increased our ability to provide hands-on training to more students.

Current Project Achievements

  • Solid soap production has officially begun
  • Students are receiving practical entrepreneurship training
  • Improved handwashing and hygiene awareness in schools
  • Increased community interest in locally produced soap
  • Income-generation opportunities are being created for school support initiatives

This initiative continues to build a sustainable, student-led support system where children become empowered with life-changing skills and opportunities for a brighter future.

To all our supporters, thank you for making this progress possible. Your kindness and partnership are creating real impact in the lives of young people and communities in Uganda.

Please continue sharing our GlobalGiving campaign with friends, families, and networks so that we can reach more people and expand this important initiative to support even more vulnerable children.
