During this reporting period, the project has continued to focus on equipping school children with practical skills in liquid soap production using affordable and locally available materials. The initiative is designed to address both hygiene challenges in schools and economic barriers faced by vulnerable students.
Through hands-on training sessions, students have successfully learned how to produce liquid soap for handwashing within their schools. This has significantly contributed to improved hygiene practices, helping to reduce the spread of preventable diseases and creating a healthier learning environment.
In addition to meeting school needs, students are now able to produce surplus soap for sale within nearby communities. This income-generating component is a key milestone, as it introduces children to entrepreneurship at an early stage while creating a sustainable mechanism to support their education. Funds generated from these sales are being directed toward school supplies and fees for vulnerable children, ensuring that more students can remain in school and continue their education.
We are also excited to share an important development: thanks to generous donations from various well-wishers and supporters, the project has expanded its scope. We have now successfully purchased tools required for solid soap production. This addition will not only diversify the students’ skills but also increase income potential and long-term sustainability of the initiative.
Long-Term Impact
In the long term, this project aims to build a generation of self-reliant, skilled, and socially responsible young people. By integrating practical entrepreneurship with education, students gain confidence, financial literacy, and problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom.
The continued production and use of soap will lead to sustained improvements in hygiene and public health within schools and surrounding communities. At the same time, the income generated will provide ongoing support for vulnerable children, reducing school dropout rates and promoting equal access to education.
As the project grows, it has the potential to be replicated in other schools and communities, creating a wider network of student-led micro-enterprises that contribute to both local economies and social well-being.
We kindly encourage you to continue sharing our project with your networks. Your support helps us reach more people, expand our impact, and keep this initiative active and growing.
