We have great news! Thanks to a generous US$12,600 donation from the Marley Natural Foundation, we have been able to get our project off the ground! Specifically:
Snorkel gear:
We've purchased 15 sets of gear inclusive of mask/snorkel, fins, safety vests and flags for the boat.
Coxswain (boat captain) licensing:
4 staff members of staff are being trained. Staff members have completed the training course and are now preparing for certification exams.
Team Jamaica Training (Tourism business training):
11 staff members successfully completed Team Jamaica training and are certified. Certificates not yet delivered
Logo Design:
Logo design in draft stage. Final logo to be determined within 3 weeks.
Uniforms:
Once logo design is complete, uniforms will be orderd.
Underwater Camera:
Purchase pending
Computer:
Purchase pending
Wash off area:
On hold until more funds are received.
All told, we are well on our way to establishing our snorkeling shop and helping to ensure the financial stustainability of the Oracabessa Bay Fish Sanctuary!
