Sun Guardians Grant Program Update

By Joanne Boland | Sr. Manager Fundraising and Events

We are currently working through our 2026 grant applications. This year, we received 139 submissions from organizations including camps, daycares, recreational centres, school programs, local pools, and more.

To date, we have awarded 31 grants, providing:

  • 2,650 sunscreen products
  • 600 UPF swimwear sets
  • 510 Sun Safety Kits
  • 10 covered picnic tables
  • 10 10x10 pop-up tents

These grants will benefit more than 4,500 youth through improved access to sun safety resources and education.

We would like to sincerely thank our partners for their generous support of this program:

  • Neutrogena for donating sunscreen products
  • UV Skinz for donating UPF swimwear
  • Columbia for donating the UPF hats included in our Sun Safety Kits

The incredible support from these partners allows us to maximize the impact of funds raised, helping us provide more grants and reach even more youth with important sun safety resources and education.
