This project will build a skills hub in Bela Bela, Limpopo, South Africa, providing vocational education, entrepreneurship training, work readiness, and digital skills to unemployed youth and women with disabilities who are marginalized by mainstream educational institutions and the open labor market. By equipping them with practical skills and opportunities, we aim to empower over 3,000 individuals annually, helping them transition into meaningful employment or start their own businesses.
This project addresses a critical need for unemployed youth and women with disabilities in South Africa who face significant barriers to education and employment. With over 489 special schools across the country, 90% of learners who graduate from these institutions will never transition into the open labor market. This is largely due to a lack of recognized qualifications and the challenges associated with their learning disabilities. For these individuals, the existing education and employment.
By establishing an Disability Skills Hub in Bela Bela, Limpopo, to provide practical training, job readiness, and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth and women with disabilities. It will offer skills in areas like agriculture, plumbing, welding, motor mechanics, digital literacy, and business development, helping participants gain recognized qualifications and start small businesses or find employment.
