With the cost of food and materials rising in Uganda, fundraising for sustainable project has never been as important as it is now. Uganda has high levels of poverty and food insecurity, which is exacerbated by the increasing effects of the recent pandemic, as well as climate change, deforestation and unsustainable farming.

This is why we’re so excited that things are progressing so well at Sky Is The Limit right now. Following the passing of our dear Rose who founded Sky Is The Limit School, we’re honoured to be able to continue working with her family in order to continue the Rose’s legacy. Her daughters Lucy, Juliana, Juliet, Brenda and granddaughter Melissa have really stepped up to the challenge and have been doing a wonderful job working with the existing staff at Sky Is The Limit to secure the educational wellbeing of the children who benefit from the school.

We’re excited to share with you that a Board of Governors for Sky Is The Limit has been established, whose sole focus is the successful education and wellbeing of all 395 children who attend Sky Is The Limit School.

We’re also thrilled to celebrate Andrew’s graduation this past weekend! Andrew first came to Sky Is The Limit in when he was just 6 years old. Andrew’s father died when he was just 9 months old. His mother’s health was poor and she found it very difficult to cope after her husband’s death. In order to make ends meet, Adolf’s mother started making cooked snacks. Andrew was only a little boy, but had to wake at 2am every day to assist his mother with preparing and frying the snacks which she would sell from 7am every morning. If she was too ill, he would take responsibility for all of the work. This situation had a huge impact on Andrew’s ability to learn, by midday he was completely exhausted at school and unable to focus on what he was being taught. His test results were poor and his mother would get very angry with him.

Andrew, was an extremely bright child, so when he came to Sky Is The Limit, he began to excel in school. After receiving the highest marks in his primary exams for the Southern Region of Uganda, he went on to study in one of the top Secondary schools in Kampala before being accepted into Medical School.

Now, Andrew has successfully graduated as a qualified Doctor! He says, “By the time I joined Sky Is The Limit, I had almost lost hope because I had no way of continuing with my education. By good luck, I met mama Rose who started taking care of me and helped me continue with my education. It was not her alone, but together with Ecologia, Eve my sponsor, and other friends. It’s always important to give back from where one reps, I promise to serve all my patients whole heartedly to change their lives as mine has been changed. “

Andrew is just one of the many success stories to have come out of Sky Is The Limit, but with 397 children currently at the school, we need your help to make sure they get the same educational opportunities.

Please consider donating today and help young minds thrive and create the life they’ve always dreamed of.
