We are happy to have ended the year on a high note. We held graduations at three vocational colleges in December. This year saw the highest number of youths completing our training project since we started it when we had just one college working with us.
The youths graduated from our bespoke one year programme coming hands-on apprenticeship training and college attendance with a specially prepared curriculum. The graduates have been provided with tool kits and can now enter the labour market either as employees or self employed. Their training not only provided knowledge of their chosen trade, but also provided mentoring, life-skills, guidance and counselling from our social workers. The youths will remain in their association groups and continue to meet to provide support to each other.
We are now making plans to repeat the programme on 2024 for an even larger group of youths. We are thrilled to see that our past participants are mostly employed/self-employed and much more content with their lives thanks to this programme. We hope to upload photos at a later date as the system does not seem to be allowing us right now.
Thank you all for your support during 2023 and we wish you all a wonderful New Year!
