updates from Suubi:
• Grant for Stoves & New Groups – We received a grant from The MomCo to provide 1,000 energy-efficient cooking stoves and materials to start 20 new MomCo groups in Eastern Uganda. Inefficient stoves cause health problems and high fuel costs. These new stoves will reduce smoke and cut down on the wood or charcoal families need.
• Education Support – This term we registered 60 children for school and covered their fees. Education is one of the most lasting ways to break the cycle of poverty. We are still looking for 10 more sponsors—details are on our website.
• Eco-Friendly Staff Housing – With support from Cool Bricks (Delft, Netherlands), we are building two staff houses using special bricks that don’t require firing. They are strong, eco-friendly, and reduce deforestation. Soon our staff will have a much better place to live.
• Vacation Bible School – In December, we will host a Vacation Bible School for up to 600 children. It will be a joyful time of food, games, and songs. We are seeking funds to help feed the children who attend.
Thank you for your support!
