My name is Amy, and for the past several years I’ve been working alongside young mothers in rural Uganda through a community called Suubi Teen MOPS. These are girls who became moms far too young. Many were forced to drop out of school and now work long hours digging in fields to survive. Their hands are strong, their spirits resilient — but they need a chance.
We want to offer that chance through a sewing school.
Sewing is more than a skill. It's a way out of poverty. It’s a chance for these young women to leave behind the backbreaking work in the fields and earn a living with dignity. It also opens the door to creativity, confidence, and hope.
The cost is about €525 (or $550) per student. That includes:
-A daily meal
-All sewing materials and fabric
-Maintenance for the sewing machines
-A fair wage for our teacher
We’re inviting friends and strangers alike to sponsor a student — either fully (€525) or by donating €45/month for 12 months.
Every euro, every dollar, helps us stitch a better story for these moms.
If you can give, thank you. If you can share, thank you. If you can pray, thank you.
With love and hope,
Amy
