Build a skill center for young moms in Uganda!

The Suubi 2024 Vacation Bible School took place from December 16 to 21, welcoming 260 children—more than double the number from last year. The week was filled with joy as the children played games, made crafts, sang songs, and learned important lessons about friendship, loyalty, forgiveness, and maintaining a positive attitude.

Many of the children arrived hungry due to the extreme poverty in the area, and ensuring there was enough food for everyone was our biggest challenge. Thankfully, we were able to provide meals for all.

On the final day, Santa made a surprise visit, which caused a bit of excitement! To avoid a stampede, the leaders decided to distribute gifts as the children left the center.

This program was a collaborative effort with local churches, which now have the important task of continuing to nurture and support these children. The entire event was a wonderful success, and we are incredibly grateful to our sponsors for making it possible.

For many of these children, who have so little to celebrate during the Christmas season, this program was their Christmas. And it was truly amazing

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to support the Suubi Center and the community it serves. From December 16 to 21, we’ll host our 2nd annual Vacation Bible School, welcoming over 200 children from the area. Throughout the week, the kids will enjoy singing, games, and crafts, while local pastors teach on friendship, forgiveness, and gratitude. A significant portion of our $2,500 budget goes towards providing meals, making this week a time of joy and connection for the community.

Beyond Vacation Bible School, Suubi supports families with seeds for pumpkins, corn, and peas, helping the 30 neediest families in the community achieve greater food security. Over the past two years, this program has made a real difference. Seeds are distributed twice a year, with a current need of $1,200 to sustain this effort.

Additionally, Suubi equips women and girls with washable sanitary pad kits, crafted by women in our sewing school. Each kit includes six high-quality, long-lasting pads that can be used for up to three years with proper care. We aim to provide 400 kits, requiring $3,000 to cover the materials and production.
