Silence the Silent Killer 'High Blood Pressure'

We are thrilled to share the incredible impact your support is already having in the fight against hypertension (high blood pressure)! Since January, HopeCore has screened 47,186 household members, and from those 4,749 were found to have high blood pressure, and we have already referred 2,580 individuals to the link facilities for further management. Can you imagine how many lives we are saving with these screenings?

Well, here is how we are doing it! We have trained and empowered 1,265 Community Health Promoters (CHPs) with skills and knowledge to screen for and educate people about hypertension. The CHPs are always on the ground, conducting routine home visits and this is how one of the CHPs, Margaret, screened and saved Nancy’s life. Nancy didn’t realize her blood pressure was dangerously high—she thought it was just stress. After the screening, Margaret referred Nancy for treatment and also educated her on making lifestyle changes, like adjusting her diet. This intervention saved Nancy's life, and it’s just one of many lives we are saving, all because of your support.

This year, we are stepping up our efforts.  Our goal is to screen 281,700 household members, up from the 168,798 screenings we achieved last year.  I’m confident we can reach this target and save even more lives. Every person we screen brings us closer to silencing hypertension, the silent killer. Your support is what makes all of this possible.
