Silence the Silent Killer 'High Blood Pressure'

We are thrilled to share the progress we have made in our Hypertension Program in 2023. Your support has been the driving force behind the following achievements:

This year we screened a total of 39,851 community members for hypertension. In the sub-counties screened, we found a range of 4-20% of these clients who were unaware that they had high blood pressure - for a total of 3554 people. This showcases the success of our early detection efforts.

In remote Kenyan communities, hypertension often lurks silently, a hidden threat with devastating consequences if left unchecked. Without timely screening, individuals face a ticking time bomb. Uncontrolled high blood pressure silently damages internal organs, leading to strokes, heart attacks, and kidney failure. These tragedies strike at random, shattering families and straining already limited healthcare resources in the region.

Every unscreened individual remains vulnerable, another potential victim in this silent epidemic - but HopeCore is on the frontlines, working to screen and identify those at risk.
