We greatly appreciate your invaluable support to the project: Sierra Leonean Youth as Family Planning Peer Educators.
This innovative project is still in the beginning stages of development. However, Marie Stopes Sierra Leone (MSSL) looks forward to training and supporting 60 youth peer educators to inform their peers about reproductive health and where to access services.
Teenage pregnancy is a serious issue in Sierra Leone, with 1 in every 2.5 teenage girls having a child before they reach the age of 20. Through this project, MSSL seeks to address the stigma, social, and structural barriers that prevent youth from seeking information and services.
We look forward to providing you with additional project updates as the youth peer educators are identified and trained to provide sexual and reproductive health education.
