Shelter Them Batarure project fundraising goal to build 5 homes for 26 vulnerable children has reached 16% since last year December 2020 to date. The fundraising campaigns was gradually slowed down since early this year because of the second wave of COVID 19. This has negatively impacted our new projects because our donors prioritized on finding our existing projects such as our early childhood development center where 87 children receive developmental services since April 2021 such as nutrition, child protection, hygiene, sanitation, playing and learning. Our donors continue also to support to the livelihoods of our vulnerable families such as food support, education for children and healthcare.
Though we need the full project funding to build five homes for 26 vulnerable children, we have decided to start with the 16% of the funds we have raised to build two homes this year. The construction of those two houses will start as soon as total lockdown is lifted in Rwanda
To complete the building of the five homes hopefully end of this year, the founders of Shelter Them Josephine Murphy and Jocelyne Alexandre will raise money by doing a walk campaign from their home town to Toronto CN Tower in Toronto Canada this coming October 2021. This upcoming campaign is expected to raise the remaining money required to build more three houses.
We are so excited to give an amazing Chritmas gift to our beneficiaries!
