Although there have been no donors to our project to purchase beds and bedding for the orphans living in Hope for Children Centre and Good Samaritan, they are still hopeful.
On September 21, we were honored by a visit from Farley Sawyer, GlobalGiving's Kenyan representative. Ms. Sawyer visited with the children, and was shown the needs including beds and mattresses; tables and chairs. She also viewed recent improvements including our new cow, Helen; solar power, and our water tanks. She took lots of pictures, and had plenty of fun with our kids, who enjoyed her visit tremendously.
Ms. Sawyer invited our adminstrator to attend a meeting on September 27 in nearby Kisumu with several other non-profits who have benefited by having their projects on GlobalGiving. It was a wonderful opportunity, and we are hoping to learn more about raising funds through the efforts of GlobalGiving and future donors.
