Over the past several months, Until There’s A Cure has continued to put the mission of She Leads the Cure into action by creating opportunities for women and girls to educate, advocate, create, and lead.
One important part of this work is our continued partnership with women artisans in South Africa. Many of the products offered through Until There’s A Cure, including our beaded red ribbon pins, are handcrafted by women in communities impacted by HIV. These partnerships provide meaningful income-generating opportunities while connecting their craftsmanship to a larger message of HIV awareness and action. Each piece tells a story of creativity, resilience, and the importance of investing in women.
We have also continued to create opportunities for the next generation through our How I Value Life Internship Program. Young people are given the space to explore HIV awareness, stigma, health equity, and advocacy and turn their ideas into meaningful educational projects. This year, young women in our program have used their individual talents and perspectives to develop creative HIV awareness content, including poetry, storytelling, social media campaigns, and interactive educational projects.
Beyond these programs, Until There’s A Cure has continued bringing HIV education and awareness directly into the community. Through events, partnerships, and public outreach, we are creating opportunities for conversations about HIV that are informative, compassionate, and free from stigma. Our recent outreach has included community events in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as preparation for World AIDS Day, when the red ribbon becomes an especially powerful reminder of the people who have shaped, and continue to lead, the HIV movement.
As we approach World AIDS Day on December 1, we are also encouraging our community, partners, and ambassadors to wear and share the red ribbon, helping carry the message of HIV awareness to new audiences.
From an artisan earning income through her craft, to a young intern finding her voice as an advocate, to women using their platforms to challenge stigma, every opportunity creates a ripple effect.
Thank you for helping us continue investing in women and girls, amplifying their voices, and building a future where the next generation has the knowledge and opportunity to lead us closer to a world without HIV.
