We left home August 2012, to begin the Shattering The Silence Tour and Documentary Project, at FACSAFoundation.org. We are currently in Maine, on the Fall part of the tour, which is about our 65th stop of the tour. Since we left home, we have seen some amazing things. Your donations of 994.00 last quarter helped us to.
Restructuring of the Shattering The Silence Tour and Documentary Project
The FACSA Foundation (Family and Friends Fighting Against Child Sexual Assault) has been traveling the U.S.A. and Canada on a 115 city, Shattering The Silence Tour and Documentary Project filming a documentary on survivors stories from across the nation, conducting research on how child sexual assault is affecting our local communities, and hosting free public education prevention conferences across the nation, on prevention of child sexual assault and human trafficking.
While on the tour, we have united organizations across the U.S.A. and Canada, combining resources, tools, funding, and ceativity, thus enabling organizations to better serve their communiites and the families affected by child sexual assault and human trafficking. We have also been instrumental in more survivors sharing their stories, which promotes their healing and inspires others to do the same. Perpetrators silence survivors through fear, chame, degradation, and silence. Through the Shattering The Silence T
our and Documentary Project, we have been encouraging survivors to shatter the silence, and to regain the power, they feel they have lost. For when the silence is shattered, the power of the perpetrator is broken. This is why it is so important for curvivors to speak up, to tell, and not be a prisoner to fear. Ninety percent of victims encounter their perpetrators through close proximity, whether it be a family member, neighbor, or a community leader, and why they do not tell until they have reached a safe zone, according to the DOJ. Victims never "Forget It" and they never, "Get Over It." From the time of the traumatic incident the neuropathways of the brain havebeen altred and until these processes have been worked through, usually with counseling, faith, or healing modalities, the survivor will experience difficulty with trust and boundary issues, as well as maladaptive behavioral issues.
The FACSA Foundation will restructure the Shattering The Silence Tour and Documentary Project for the next year. We will focuson the documentary and research, and will complete the physical tour with leaders and chapters from each state. We are seeking qualified, committed, and dedicated individuals, whom we will train the Shattering The Silence Tour and Documentary Project Format, and educational tools, and resources needed for each state. We would like for as many advocates for child sexual assault and human trafficking and prevention to join the FACSA Foundation family and the FACSA Foundation Revolution, as we empower community leaders, grand parents, and parents to be the front liine defense for the children in their community. Join us and be a voice for children who can not speak for themselves. The children are counting on you!
