During Eid al-Adha, thousands of refugees families in Egypt look forward to a simple but meaningful moment: sharing a meal together. For many vulnerable families in Egypt and the refugees, this moment is often out of reach. Through this Qurbani programme, we work to restore that joy and dignity by ensuring that families receive high-quality meat during Eid-often the only time in the year they can afford it.
Across vulnerable communities in Egypt, many refugees families struggle with food insecurity and poor nutrition, especially protein-rich sources like meat. As a result, many families, particularly children, face diets that lack essential nutrients needed for healthy growth and well-being. At the same time, during Eid al-Adha, the practice of Qurbani represents an important opportunity-both spiritually and socially-to support those in need. Rooted in the principles of solidarity and compassion.
The project will provide vulnerable families and refugees in Egypt with nutritious Qurbani meat during Eid al-Adha, directly improving access to essential protein. Fresh/cool meat will be distributed 3 kilos/ family or more depends on the number of household. By organizing Qurbani according to Islamic Sharia and efficient delivery systems, the project transforms donations into immediate nutritional support.
While each Qurbani provides only a limited quantity of meat for a short period, its true value lies in reinforcing solidarity, dignity, and the right to adequate food, ensuring that refugees families are not excluded from the joy and social justice embodied in Eid al-Adha.
