Thank you again to all of those who support our performances at the Rose Theatre at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
The coronavirus pandemic has drastically changed all of the company's plans for our 2020 season. We have not been in rehearsal or done any performing since early March. Here in Michigan, live entertainment venues are still closed, and we were not able to do our early summer Rose performance. While venues may re-open by August, safety and logistical concerns will keep us from performing in late August as well. We plan to move the two titles slated for performance this year, The Winter's Tale and King Lear, and move them to the summer of 2021. We will apply your generous contributions to those performances!
Meanwhile, we have plans to continue our partnership with Blue Lake Public Radio, for whom our Rose performances serve as fundraisers. Later this summer, we will do a virtual performance of a brand new radio play, commissioned for Pigeon Creek, and that performance will be used to encourage donation to Blue Lake Public Radio. The radio play script will be written by playwright David Little, who has also previously worked with Pigeon Creek as the director of our 2018 production of Henry VI.
We miss our audiences, and look forward to a time when we can be back in the theatre together. For an idea of the concerns facing theatre companies as we prepare to return to live performance, please see the link to our company blog provided here.
Thank you again for your ongoing support!
