The following are the Updates on the Project - Setting up of Computer Labs in Slums and Villages
Setting up Lab infrastructure
o 29 old computers (Desktops) were obatined for the centers. They have now been refurbished and are ready to use.
o The computers have been loaded with an E-learning software which covers school curriculum. The E-learning softwares are from SVYM (SVYM.ORG).
o The infrastructural work such as carpentry and electrical work has started. Lack of funds has caused some delay in these works, but we are trying for funds from variuos sources and are hopeful of completing the infrastructural work by the end of March
Identification of faculty and syllabus
o We have been interviewing many passionate young computer graduates for the roles of faculty in these centres. Few have been shortlisted and we have also finalsed the agreement on the working Terms and Conditions.
o The Syllabus for the school and vocational training center has also been finalized.
Inauguration
o We are planning to Inaugurate a couple of centers during first week of April-2014.
