Dear Friends,
This year, with your support, Maisto Bankas has already rescued 5,466 tonnes of food from going to waste. That's the weight of around 900 elephants of good food that can nourish people instead of ending up in landfills — and we're not stopping there!
Autumn is one of our busiest seasons for rescuing fresh produce. We return to the fields to collect surplus pumpkins, carrots, onions, apples, and other vegetables and fruits that otherwise would be left to rot.
Recently, we collected more than 7 tonnes of perfectly good pumpkins from a single field. These pumpkins will be shared with people in need and instead of rotting will become a warm plate of pumpkin soup.
Rescuing food also means saving the resources that went into growing it. Those 7 tonnes of pumpkins represent more than 1,750 kg of CO emissions avoided and over 2.35 million litres of water saved. It's a powerful reminder that even one harvest can make a real difference for both people and the planet.
We're proud of how much we've achieved together, but there is still good food waiting to be rescued. With your support, we can reach more fields, save more produce, and deliver more food to people who need it.
Thank you for helping us turn food that might have been wasted into a resource that brings people together. Let's see how much more we can save!
With gratitude,
The "Maisto Bankas" Team
