Fabulous Afrcian Fabrics broke its last record by $500, by sending $10,500 to the Good Samaritan Children's Home in 2012. It is amounts like that which has allowed the Home to hire a social worker and other professionals making this home one of the best run in Nairobi.
FAF raised six thousand dollars on Global Giving last year. You have made this possible. Thank you so much for your generosity. In December FAF sent $1694 dollars for Project 7377, shoes for school children, and $652 for tuition, Project 6163.
The Anthony Salazar Fund, raised $1200 this winter. This money is used for emergencies as they arise at the orphanage. Last year the emergency fund was used for the special items the growing number of babies and toddlers require. Our sales of items made of African textiles also provides money for the Home. In 2012 our hatter, Lucille Ramshaw sewed 24 hats that we sold at the Grand Rapids, Michigan Artisan's Market. The coming summer will be our 14th year with a booth at the market.
Keep in mind that Bonus Day on Global Giving falls in March, and you will be hearing from us and the need for tuition money for those bright teens at the Good Samaritan Home. For more news about life in Africa and this organization check our website: www.fabulousafricanfabrics.org.
But of course the job is not done.
