Challenge

Thousands of pregnant women displaced by conflict and violence in Nigeria face childbirth without access to proper medical care. Living in overcrowded IDP camps, many cannot afford antenatal visits, ultrasound scans, medicines, or skilled birth attendants. Some develop life-threatening complications such as severe bleeding, preeclampsia, and infections without receiving timely treatment. For these women, what should be a joyful journey into motherhood can become a desperate struggle to survive.

Solution

This project will bring free maternal healthcare to displaced pregnant women in Nigeria's IDP camps through medical visits, antenatal checkups, ultrasound scans, laboratory tests, and pregnancy medicines. We'll monitor mothers & their unborn babies, identify pregnancy complications, and arrange emergency referrals when needed. We'll also support safe childbirth, provide delivery kits, and offer postnatal care, giving vulnerable mothers and their babies a chance of surviving pregnancy & childbirth.

Long-Term Impact

Every mother deserves to survive childbirth, and every baby deserves a healthy start in life. This project will help reduce preventable maternal and newborn deaths among displaced families in Nigeria. With access to antenatal care, skilled delivery support, and timely treatment, more women can experience safer pregnancies and welcome their babies without fear. Beyond childbirth, healthy mothers will be able to care for their children and rebuild their lives and give their families better future.
