''Send Back 2000 Out of School Children''

By Oluwafemi Opeyemi | Media Head

PROJECT SUMMARY

In many communities across Nigeria, a large number of children are currently out of school due to poverty, insecurity, displacement, and related social challenges.

In some areas, ongoing insecurity has made families prioritize safety over education, leaving children at home.

At the same time, vulnerable women, particularly widows and single mothers, face significant economic hardship, limiting their ability to meet basic household needs and support their children.

This project seeks to reintegrate 2,000 out-of-school children into formal education while also empowering vulnerable women through livelihood support, skills training, and psychosocial care to improve family wellbeing.

FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS

We would like to highlight a critical challenge currently impacting the delivery of this project. Over the past several months, the project has operated without financial support, leading to a noticeable slowdown in activities.

This funding shortfall has affected our work in several key areas:

Limited intake of additional out-of-school children
Reduced provision of essential educational materials
Constraints in conducting consistent follow-up and monitoring

A growing backlog of widows and vulnerable children requiring urgent assistance
With the ongoing rise in insecurity and economic hardship, the demand for this intervention continues to grow. However, the absence of sufficient funding has created a gap between the increasing needs and our capacity to respond effectively.

The situation remains urgent, as many children are still unable to access education, and numerous vulnerable families are yet to receive the support they require.

IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY

The project supports children through school enrollment assistance, provision of learning materials, and collaboration with local schools and community leaders to ensure safe reintegration.

For women, the project focuses on psychosocial support, vocational training, and small-scale income opportunities to help them build sustainable livelihoods and improve household stability.

CALL FOR SUPPORT

We are calling on donors, partners, and compassionate individuals to stand with us. Your support can mean the difference between a child staying at home in fear or returning to a classroom with hope. It can mean the difference between a struggling mother sinking deeper into poverty or becoming empowered to provide for her family with dignity.

With your help, we can bring 2,000 children back to school, restore confidence to vulnerable women, and rebuild futures that have been disrupted by circumstances beyond their control.

No contribution is too small. Every support brings us one step closer to transforming fear into opportunity, and hardship into lasting change.
