School for 25 at-risk children in South Africa

Thanks for a great year!

Many thanks for your support in the past year! Thanks to your generosity and that of other donors, Love to Langa was able to reach four townships in South Africa offering scholarships to deserving children in 2015. The scholarship children are from Mfuleni, Philippi, Mitchells Plain and Khayalitsha. For 2016 scholarships, we will continue in the township areas.

The children and families who participate in the the scholarship program are affected by the following:

- drugs

- alcohol

- parent death

- unemployment

- illness

Project Manager and Love to Langa Board Member, Kissmea Adams, says, "By assisting the children with scholarships, they are not left alone to roam the streets. Parents and guardians are able to work knowing their children are in a safe, secure environment including full daycare. The schools that were selected by Love to Langa for scholarships offer meals, educational programme and transport. We also have been offering scholarships for swimming lessons, which includes bathing suits."

The photos are from Mfuleni Early Childhood Centre, where 10 children are currently receiving scholarship assistance.
