Monkeying around with some of our students

Mfuleni Early Childhood Centre is all about educating children by incorporating themes into their curriculum. A very popular theme recently was mammals and the school principal, Sandra, took a group of children, including our scholarship recipients, for an amazing adventure to meet other mammals all the way to "Monkey Town" in tSomerset West.

Aside from becoming encyclopedias for llamas, monkeys and much more, time was allowed for the children to show their gross motor skills on the jungle gym/play park area.

Sandra said, "we pride ourselves on being the only English-speaking pre-school in Mfuleni, therefore it was so important for the children to see each mammal and the English name was given." She added, "some of the children were scared and I showed them how a monkey can eat nuts out of my hand."

We are so thrilled that the children had this wonderful opportunity!
