The school year 2023-2024 is progressing without major difficulties.
Academic results are in line with expectation for the first cycle (first 4 years) but better than expected for the second cycle (last 4 years).
Each year the running costs of the school are increasing due to increase number of students and increase of price of all goods in Burkina.
Today 90% of the costs are covered by funds coming from outside of Burkina and 10% by the parents.
This is not sustainable and we have put in place a plan to reduce the foreign input to 50%, the other 50% would come from Burkina Faso.
In this plan the largest contributor to local funding will be the creation of revenu generating activities at the LAP. So far we have identified the activities of Fish farming, eggs production and production of vegetables in greenhouse.
Those activities will bring revenus to the LAP, support the practical training of the students and create employment for some villagers.
We intend to start the implementation of those activities in 2024.
