Compost workshop ready at the LAP

We are getting close to the end of the school year 202-2023.

The first exam for the 4th and 6th year students will start June 1st.

In the mean time thanks to the Dutch Koppert Foundation we have been able to built a compost making unit.

Using straw, harvest waste for dry matters, manure and burkina Phospate we are able to produce batches of compost in 3 months. If we have the needed material we can produce up to 8 batches in a year.

The first batch was started end of April and will be ready end of June. The weight of this batch will be around 3.000 kg of compost. This is good for one Ha of land.

We will have to wait the month of October to start a new batch because of the rainy season starting in June.

Besides the production of compost, we want to show the students that harvest waste and manure have a value.

Compost is a better alternative to inogarnic fertilizer in term of pollution and costs.

Thank younto the Koppert foundation and to you to support our students.
