Beautiful changes in life of Sweety have happenedin the life of Sweety and Thank you to you all for that! A 12 year girl with visual impairment and with multi sensory impairment living in a slum with her parents and an elder brother and sister, was totally dependent on her mother for everything. She would sit in one corner of the room 24/7 and was carried by parents for toileting bathing etc. Communication with family was extremely limited.
Sweety, her parents and Aaina staff worked together for 1 year to have a better life for Sweety. Through tactile sign language, developing skills for activities of daily living, and physiotherapy to improve on motor skills, now Sweety communicates with her family about the basic needs such as water, food, and toilet. She can stand and walk and do brushing and grooming with minimum support! Most importantly, she is enjoying Life Better! Her parents are excited and now want to see her walk independently and gain academic skills. This could not have been possble without your support !!!
There are 27 more children like Sweety who are equally willing and carry the same potential to be more independent. Aaina's State Learning Center for the Children was inaugrated on 27th June, 2017/ . Funds raised from GlobalGiving were used to equip the Learning Center to provide therapy as well as initate academic skills in the children.
However children live in slums and their parents lack financial resources to commute to the resource center twice a week.
A great news is that This years GG Rewards Bonus Day is around the corner from 9:00am to 11:59pm EDT on Wednesday, July 12th. On this day, GlobalGiving will have$110,000 available in matching funds!!! where it will match donations until funds last!! So please be the firsy yo donate when it matters the most!!!
