Soumya (Name changed), is a 17 year old girl with Down Syndrome, Visual and Hearing Impairment. Since 2017 she has been given support from Aaina.
Pandemic has changed the lives of people, so did it happened with Soumya. Closure of centre, social distancing, confined to home was a real struggle for her, which created hindrances in her physical and emotional development.
After couple of months, Aaina thought to go for online learning platform which proved to be favorable for Soumya. With her studies she is also able to develop her creative skills through online classes like diya making, drawing, embroidery, colouring, chocolate making.
Our goal is to exploit her true potential. She is gifted with her remarkable ability of painting and making crafts. With our sessions and interaction through online, she gets more time to focus on her creativity skills.
Our next phase of intervention is to engage her in vocational skills like diya making, chocolate making, etc which will help her to be self independent and which can be her source of income.
