San Vicente del Caguan is known as the “Golden Gateway to the Colombian Amazon,” and is the second-largest municipality in the department of Caqueta.
In its rural area, the multigrade Guayabal - The Bee School serves 18 students from preschool to fifth grade. Like in many other schools in Colombia, its students face limitations in access to high-quality, age-appropriate learning resources, which are essential for developing foundational skills and fostering independent learning. This context reflects the broader educational inequalities affecting Colombian rural communities.
At this time, not sufficient funds have been collected to deliver additional pedagogical materials. This report update includes photographs of students who benefited from this campaign, shared as part of our ongoing monitoring, transparency, and accountability efforts. These images reflect the current learning environment and the continued use of the educational materials previously delivered.
The learning resources in use are based on the Escuela Nueva methodology, which promotes cooperative, participatory, and active learning, while strengthening social and emotional skills and encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and other essential 21st-century skills.
