Dear donors,
Greetings to all! Hope you are all in good health and managing well.
The pandemic has had a disruptive effect on the traditional methods of social activities. The effect on the poorest has however been the hardest – the daily wage worker, the migrant labourer, the hotel staff, the household worker, the construction helpers are among the categories who face economic hardship. Their livelihood is a major concern. Reaching out to these families has become more difficult with all the restrictions and safety protocols to be followed.
The self care project for women by IDEA foundation was started to educate women from underprivileged background the importance of good health and hygiene. But with the unexpected breakout of COVID 19 life has become even more miserable for women with all the family members locked in a house with minimum facilities. More than economic crisis, women are facing lot of stress inside the four walls, difficult to manage each day with the bare minimum. Understanding their difficulties we have distributed groceries and essential supplies to their families.
We persevere to keep in touch with these women through different activities to keep their spirit uplifted. The zoom meetings are planned and carried out in such a way that they also actively participate and share their concern.
We have covered different topics in our online platform by experts, topics included understanding COVID situation and precautions, Stress management, Time management and Family budgeting. We have also arranged different fun activities like slogan writing and poster making to encourage these women to use their skills and also to impart awareness of COVID in their communities. The women were encouraged to share their art work with their friends and families through WhatsApp.
Thank you for all your support throughout this journey. Help us to continue to uplift their spirits while trying to come out of this corona crisis.
