Dear Friends,
Greetings from IDEA!
As you know, IDEA serves many underprivileged and tribal women through various skilling courses in Tailoring, Beauty parlour and culinary skills.
Along with skills training, the women benefit through many life skill sessions in Health, Hygiene, Nutrition, interpersonal relations, personality development, soft skills, and time & stress management.
These life skill sessions are important as they teach the importance of self-awareness, they teach women to be knowledgeable and assertive. Slowly women begin to grow in confidence, they learn to cope with adversities and respond effectively to any situation, stress or emotion.
This helps them in dealing with their children, family, relatives and friends better. Their interactions with various groups start becoming more and more meaningful. It also helps their family and peers to engage with them better.
Recently we have started a new initiative - ART THERAPY. In this an expert engages women through the art of drumming. Collective drumming sessions guided by the expert help women release their stress.
This helps them in connecting with their inner self. Their emotions are channelized through rhythmic drumming creating a safe positive space.
emotive expression is especially important in stress management and it helps one tremendously in managing one's emotions and thereby living personal and professional life to one's full potential.
It is no wonder that our women eagerly await the art therapy sessions and especially the drumming sessions are the most popular amongst women of all ages.
We are trying our best to reach out to these women through various initiatives which focus on the importance of self-care and we are very happy with the positive response that we are receiving from them.
Friends, please share this project with your community so that more and more marginalized women can learn the importance of self-care!
