It was a busy 2018 for The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation. We continue to reach far and grant comfort and hope to those affected by seizures/epilepsy. We have had an increase in visibility nationally and because of that we have seen a large increase in the number of requests. We still provide as many grants and devices as we can and will continue to do so.
With your generous support and the support of others and our events, we have provided funding for 118 seizure-response service dogs to date. We thought you might enjoy seeing some of our most recent recipients.
The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation believes strongly in this program. When trained properly, these amazing dogs can alert others and summon help in the event of a seizure, secure a safe space for the individual suffering a seizure, rouse an unconscious individual and carry vital information and medication. These amazing dogs can be trained to respond to the specific needs of their handler. Many dogs will even have the ability to alert the individual, family members and/or teachers before the onset of a seizure, allowing them to quickly respond to potentially life-threatening situations.
Thank you for your support! Your support could possibly safe the life of someone struggling with seizures.
