This project will support the growth of Arts For All's newly created Reserve Fund and secure the organization's future capability to provide free, high-quality arts education to 5,000 New York City children each year. The growth of a Reserve Fund is a priority for the organization in our long-term planning as a vital tool granting protection against any emergencies, security to maintain operations, and the forward-thinking ability to safeguard the continuous education of our students.
Now more than ever, the future of arts education is at risk. Arts education programs are disappearing from New York City's schools. As of 2025, more than 23% of NYC's public schools lack a single certified arts teacher-disproportionately affecting thousands of minority and low-income students. Furthermore, nearly 50% of all NYC schools reported that funding for the arts is insufficient.
The Arts For All Reserve Fund will provide a safety net to secure the future of our work. Our reserve fund will sustain our organization long term, with a policy that only allows for withdrawals in case of emergencies. The fund ensures the stability of our mission, programs, employment, and ongoing operations. The fund will provide an internal source of funds for: sudden increases in expenses, one-time unbudgeted expenses, unanticipated loss in funding, or uninsured losses.
By contributing to our Reserve Fund, you ensure the long-term benefits of arts education for 5,000 children annually for many years to come. Through Arts For All, professional artists build self-confidence, self-expression, teamwork, resilience, and creativity in children. Art workshops are offered in disciplines such as drama, dance, visual arts, and music, which help children learn academic subjects through the arts.
