Thanks to the help of our dedicated partners and supporters, we’ve achieved a lot since our foundation in 2002.
We’ve helped establish programmes against parasitic worm infections in countries where none previously existed and have supported the delivery of over 150 million treatments.
However, we know that treatment is not enough; eliminating parasitic worm infections will require a step-change in public health programming. We will need to address the underlying factors sustaining disease transmission, such as a lack of access to clean water and sanitation facilities, and behaviours which increase disease risk.
In addition, with the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations in mind, we need to work together with our partners to ensure that all the interventions we support contribute to the strengthening of local health systems and grant universal access to healthcare.
With our new strategy, we are confident that we will be able to take on these challenges and eliminate parasitic worm infections for good.
