In Ban Oun Nyai Village, District Lao Ngarm, Salavanh Province, SEDA supported the renovation of an elementary school. From the 11-15th March 2010, SEDA staff member Ms Syvone delivered 20 roof metal sheets and nails to fix the roof, and also gave pens and notebooks to the children to assist in their learning. She was joined by village committees, the school principal, district officials and provincial officials to participate in a ceremony for the school to accept the donation. In recognition of this donation and support, the district education department awarded SEDA with a certificate of appreciation. Thank you to all our Global Giving supporters for the funding to complete this school renovation, and we hope the support continues in order to help the thousands of other schools in rural Laos which need similar renovations.
