Girls Are Working Hard
By Tom Arsenault | Overseas Program Manager
Winter is almost finished in Zimbabwe, as it’s a short season and people now are saying, “ We are only left with wind.” That means August is coming to a close, with warming sun but still a cool breeze. It will soon be tropical again.
The ASAP funded girls, thanks to your generosity; at St. Monica’s School are all doing well in their studies. Perhaps these girls work a little harder because they know they have been given a special opportunity. The cost of education remains the largest obstacle to girls getting an education in Zimbabwe. The exciting news is that for every year of additional education, girls will earn 25% higher wages.
Every child represents a future, the future of the community, of the country, and indeed the future of the whole world. Thank you for your part in helping a few girls have a chance to be special when they never thought they could be.

Mid-year Report
By Tom Arsenault | Overseas Manager
It is now winter in Zimbabwe, with cold nights and clear warm days. In Mutare where we fund the girls school fees, it is even colder because the elevation is over 5000 ft. So even though it is in the tropical zone, the altitude is a major issue. With that said, the girls we funded this year are all doing well in school and wearing sweaters. They do appreciate the opportunity to attend school and in this case a decent school.
Someone asked why we don't fund 40 girls each year. Well the simple aswer is that we fund the school fees of as many girls as we have funds for. So the amount that we raise during this year for that project is what we will have to spend on the next year. It seems like such a small amount of money that can alter the path of a young woman and change her life. So when you make that donation remember you are helping a young woman take the road to a better life. She thanks you and we thank you.
