For many children in vulnerable communities across Uganda, going to school without breakfast or lunch can make learning extremely difficult. Hunger affects concentration, participation, energy and, in some cases, a child’s ability to remain in school for the entire day. Through our school feeding initiative, Good Cause Foundation Uganda is working to ensure that vulnerable children have access to nutritious meals while pursuing their education.
The project will establish and strengthen sustainable school feeding programs in vulnerable schools, providing nutritious breakfasts and lunches prepared from locally sourced food. By working with local farmers and food suppliers, the project will not only support children but also contribute to livelihoods within the communities where the schools are located.
Objectives:
Every meal provided is more than food. It is an opportunity for a child to remain in class, concentrate on a lesson, participate with confidence and continue building a better future. We sincerely thank our GlobalGiving supporters for standing with vulnerable children and invite more donors to join us in ensuring that no child has to learn while hungry.
