Food Can Change the School Experience

Imagine a child arriving at school hungry in the morning.

Now imagine that same child receiving a nutritious breakfast.

The difference is not only in the child's stomach.

There can be a difference in energy, mood, participation and willingness to engage in classroom activities.

Later, when lunchtime arrives, another meal can help the child continue through the school day with renewed energy.

For children from families facing poverty, school meals can therefore become an important source of encouragement.

A hungry child may struggle to focus. A nourished child has a better opportunity to participate.

Term III Needs Your Support

As schools begin the third term, we are once again appealing for your partnership.

We need continued support to provide meals for vulnerable children and help them remain engaged in education.

We are also appealing for support toward scholastic materials, because feeding and learning go hand in hand.
