I would be a street child if I weren't in school.

By Karen Sparacio | Project Leader

Solomon
Solomon

Meet Solomon.  He is 15 years old and the only son in a family of seven children.  Through Project Have Hope's sponsorship, Solomon is attending one of the top secondary schools in Kampala.  A focused and dedicated scholar, he uses his down time to join dicussion groups and hopes to become an engineer.

"My toughest challenge has been understanding everything and maintaining my grades.  It takes a lot of hard work.
I overcome these challenges by consulting with teachers and by developing a spirit of competion.   This helps to improve my grades.
If i wasn't at school, I would be a miserable child who doesn't know how to write or speak English. I would end up being a street child."

Children, like Solomon, were born into their circumstances of poverty, displacement, and futures as hard laborers.  Project Have Hope is changing that.  You can help.  Just $10 provides rquirements for a student.  $100 provides tuition for one term.  Consider giving the gift, the opportunity, of education to a child who would not otherwise have it.
