One Good Turn Deserves Another

By Karen Sparacio | Project Leader

Charity
Charity

"I am 18 years old.  I am the last born in our family and the only girl.  My father passed away when I was nine months old.  I have no memories of him.  I have been with my mother through all of this time and I must say things have not been easy."

Charity is one of the fortunate children.  With your support, Project Have Hope has sponsored her education for eight years.  She is in secondary school and outperforms many of her peers.

"My proudest accomplishment was when I received the highest grade on my entrance exam [to secondary school].  I am very proud of this because I faced many challenges... Most students come from different family backgrounds.  Some of them would really try to make my life miserable because of the fact that they have more than me.  That was a great challenge.  I believe that no one desires to lack basic items but that just happens during unavoidable situations."

"Honestly, I don't know what my life would be like if I wasn't at school.  I hope to attain a university education in accounting and finance.  Thereafter I will get a good job and later support my family.  I will engage in charitable organizations so that I can help the needy.  The saying goes, 'One good turn deserves another.'"

Children, like Charity, were born into their circumstances of poverty, displacement, and futures as hard laborers.  We are changing that.  You can help.  Just $10 provides rquirements for a student.  $100 provides tuition for one term.  Consider giving the gift, the opportunity, of education to a child who would not otherwise have it.
