She's the first in her family...

By Karen Sparacio | Project Leader

SHE’S THE FIRST.

Cecilia is the first in her family to graduate Senior Six.

Now, she’s doing something that once seemed out of reach: studying to become a nurse.

For Cecilia, education isn’t simply about building a better future for herself. She already knows what she wants to do with it.

Growing up, she watched people in rural villages travel long distances just to receive medical care.

Her dream?

Build a clinic in her village.

“If I have the clinic nearby, it will help people in the village a lot.”

Even more powerful is the promise she’s made to herself:

“If I find any child or mother who is sick, I should help them… even if they cannot pay.”

Cecilia’s education has been made possible by determination, sacrifice—and sponsors who believed in what she could become.

When I asked what keeps her going, she said:

“I have someone who believes in me. That gives me the courage to work hard every day.”

This is what an education can do.

One student gets a chance.
One dream becomes possible.
And an entire community can benefit.

Will you join us for as little as $10?
