"I want to help my people" are the words spoken by the children Project Have Hope enrolls in school. Growing up as children of displaced refugees in a slum outside of the capital, Kampala, these children know the harsh realities of poverty. By age 5, they were working in the dangerous conditions of the stone quarry, hoping to earn enough money for their next meal.
Through the support of dedicated donors, more than 100 children have had the opportunity to attend school.
"I feel encouraged to work even harder, because I have the opportunity [to go to school] that many do not have,” remarks Gloria. “Without schooling, my life would be very difficult... I would not have been able to know that I am a bright person."
Your donation gives children, like Gloria, the confidence and the self-worth that they would not otherwise have. Your donation of just $10 enables these children to dream and to secure the education that can make their dreams reality.
