In 2025, Afro-Tech Girls continued its mission to ignite STEM passion among young African girls through innovative, art-infused programs that blend creativity with technology. As a non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of African female innovators, we reached over 1,200 participants across Nigeria and beyond, marking a 35% increase from 2024.
Our initiatives, including the Project 100 for 50 Scholarship Program and the ATG Connect Series, as well as the Resume Challenge, delivered measurable outcomes: 85% of participants reported heightened confidence in their tech skills, 62% pursued further STEM education or certifications, and 78% engaged in community-led projects post-program.
Last year Afro-Tech Girls set out to raise the sum of $5,000 towards a scholarship fund for female STEM undergraduates. Our goal was to be able to award over 50 recipients funds towards the completion of their education, acquisition of the tools such as laptops and access to power and data. This is a follow up from the Afro-Tech Girls Project 100 for 20 scholarship in which we raised N100,000 NGN ($250) for 20 girls. That project provided funds for 20 ladies across Nigeria in 2024.
We will be continuing on in our drive to support the increase of the pipeline of female STEM graduates across Nigeria reaching at least 100 well deserving girls in Q4 2026. As it stands we have a $4,954 deficit which means we are far from our goal. We acknowledge the $46 donation made by our first donor on the project and hope to get more.
As we race to our target this year we are excited about being able to give hope to young women in STEM.
