Saving The Heart of a 3-Year-Old Girl in Egypt

Summary of Activities:

Our project, "Saving the Heart of a 3-Year-Old Girl in Egypt," is dedicated to providing life-saving medical treatment for a young girl who suffers from a serious heart condition that requires a complex Fallot repair. Due to the economic challenges in Egypt, especially following currency devaluation, heart treatment has become unaffordable for most families. Governmental hospitals are overwhelmed, leaving many without access to life-saving care.

Thanks to the support from two generous donors, we have raised $80 so far toward our total goal of $1,925. This funding is helping us move closer to ensuring that this young girl can undergo the surgery she desperately needs. The procedure will be performed at ALNAS Charity Hospital, a nonprofit hospital that provides world-class medical care free of charge to marginalized populations.

Progress Update:

We are in the process of coordinating with ALNAS Charity Hospital to schedule the life-saving surgery. The hospital has a strong track record in treating complex heart conditions, particularly for children, and we are confident that this young girl will receive the best possible care.

To date, we have raised $80 out of our total $1,925 goal, with $1,845 still remaining to fully cover the cost of the surgery and associated medical expenses. We are focused on continuing our fundraising efforts to reach this goal and ensure the surgery takes place soon.

Impact on the Constituent:

This 3-year-old girl’s heart condition has severely affected her quality of life. Without this surgery, her chances of survival and development into a healthy adult are grim. The procedure will allow her to lead a normal childhood, free from the limitations of her heart condition, and eventually grow into a productive member of society. The impact of this surgery extends beyond her — it will relieve the burden on her family, who otherwise would be unable to afford the treatment and would face a life of constant struggle and uncertainty.
