A Hopeful Beginning, Despite Having No Funds Yet
Since the launch of our project on GlobalGiving, we have worked diligently to prepare every detail of this mission in Coyaima, Tolima, where the lives of abandoned dogs and cats depend on immediate action. Although we have not yet received donations through the platform, our commitment remains strong. With the support of local volunteers, we have already identified the 50 most vulnerable animals that will receive vaccinations, deworming, and sterilization.
Our team has made progress in coordinating with local veterinarians who are willing to help once the necessary funds are available. We have also identified the strategic locations where five community feeders will be installed, providing daily meals to stray animals in the area.
An inspiring story is that of Mona, a malnourished dog found covered in parasites, with a heartbreaking look in her eyes. Today, after being temporarily taken in by a volunteer, she is slowly recovering thanks to food and care. She is a powerful reminder of the importance of this project.
We continue to mobilize efforts to raise the necessary funds and bring this vision to life. Implementation has not yet begun, but the heart of the project is already beating strongly.
